ZEISS has announced that Andreas Pecher will assume the role of President and CEO of Carl Zeiss AG on April 1, 2025, succeeding Dr. Karl Lamprecht, who is stepping down after nearly 20 years with the company.
Pecher joined ZEISS in 2013 and held key leadership roles, including overseeing the Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology (SMT) segment since 2022. Dr. Michael Bolle, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, expressed confidence in Pecher’s appointment, citing his extensive experience and expertise.
Under Dr. Lamprecht’s leadership, ZEISS achieved remarkable growth, with revenue increasing from 6.3 billion euros to over 10 billion euros. The enterprise EBIT nearly doubled, and the workforce expanded to over 44,000 employees.
In addition, Dr. Frank Rohmund will join the Executive Board as Head of the SMT segment starting January 1, 2025. The enterprise has also extended the contracts of Executive Board members Susan-Stefanie Breitkopf and Sven Hermann until 2030.
These changes highlight ZEISS’s focus on continuity and strategic growth in the optics and optoelectronics industry.
