UltraTech Cement strengthens wall putty segment by acquiring Wonder WallCare for ₹235 crore
Ultratech Cement, an Aditya Birla Group company, has announced its decision to acquire a 100% stake in Wonder WallCare Private Ltd for 235 cr. This is a great strategy to boost and expand the portfolio of the company, particularly in the wall putty segment.
Wonder WallCare is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wonder Cement. The company has its manufacturing unit in Rajasthan. The location of the facility is strategically advantageous as it is situated near the high-quality raw reserves. The unit was constructed in 2022-23 and is considered one of India’s largest single-location putty manufacturing sites.
The acquisition of Wonder WallCare is a part of the broader strategy of UltraTech. This acquisition will help expand the white cement and wall putty sectors, creating a stronger position in the market. Integrating the Wonder WallCare’s advanced infrastructure will give the organisation a competitive edge and also enhance the production.
The transaction is expected to be done within the next 90 days with pending regulatory approvals and compliance. After the completion of all formalities, Wonder WallCare will be fully owned by UltraTech Cement and become a subsidiary.
In March 2025, UltraTech announced it would expand its production capacity by 1.2 MTPA in several places in India, like Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand. Furthermore, the company has reported a total cement manufacturing capacity of 178.86 mtpa. This volume makes the organisation the largest grey cement manufacturer in India.
With this acquisition, UltraTech Cement is set to create a mark in the cement industry. Expanding the company portfolio in the putty segment will bring a highly competitive advantage and also be a part of India’s fragmented putty manufacturing market.
