India’s Got Latent’s latest episode featured Ranveer Allahbadia (BeerBiceps), Ashish Chanchlani, Apoorva Mukhija (The Rebel Kid). The episode was aired on Samay Raina’s YouTube channel. The controversy started because of Ranveer’s obscene sexual and incest remarks during the show, which sparked a wildfire across the country. FIRs have been filed against these creators in Mumbai and Guwahati. The latest episode has been taken down from YouTube as well.

The questions BeerBiceps posed to a contestant were excessive and went beyond ethical boundaries. The remarks got instant backlash on social media platforms. Soon after the backlash, Ranveer released an apology on social media for the video. He acknowledged his mistake and stated that comedy is not his forte.

Indian journalist and author Neelesh Misra was outraged by a social media post where he said, “Meet the perverted creators who are shaping our country’s creative economy. I am sure each one is followed by millions.” He further continued, “This content is not designated as adult content—it can be seen with ease even by a child if the algorithm takes him or her there. The creators of the platform have zero sense of responsibility.”

The controversy escalated when Mumbai-based lawyers filed an FIR against Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and others associated with the show. The lawyers accused the creators of using vulgar language and promoting obscenity. Further, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also announced that an FIR has been registered against the creators with Guwahati Police. The CM of Assam strictly condemned such acts and highlighted that such content is unacceptable.

YouTube has to remove the video from the platform after receiving a notice from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry. This swift action by the government and the platform highlights the importance of responsibility while creating digital content that is consumed by millions.
