In a breakthrough move within India’s data centres, Iron Mountain, the NASDAQ-listed global storage and information management company, has finalised its full acquisition of Web Werks Data Centers India. The transaction, which is among the largest in the country’s data centre sector, marks the conclusion of a three-phase investment journey that began in 2021.
The initial phase saw an investment of $150 million at the joint venture’s inception, followed by additional $170 million in 2023, underscoring the strategic value of Web Werks in the rapidly expanding digital infrastructure space.
Web Werks’ co-founders, Nikhil Rathi and Nishant Rathi, who led the company’s transformation from a modest 40-member team to over 200 professionals, will now transition out of the datacenter business. Their next chapter focuses on NeoSOFT, a global IT consulting and software solutions company. In addition to driving growth at NeoSOFT, the duo plans to mentor startups and collaborate with investors, further contributing to India’s dynamic tech ecosystem.
