Amid the recent endorsement of 70–90-hour workweeks by top executives, Capgemini India CEO Ashwin Yardi offered a refreshing counterpoint. In a recent interview, he dismissed the notion of extreme work hours, emphasizing a more balanced approach.
Recently in an interview, he said, “My guiding principle for the last four years is don’t send an e-mail on a weekend even if it is an escalation unless you know you can solve it on a weekend.” He advocated a balanced 9 hours per day for working five days, summing 47.5 hours per week.
The statements highlight that work-life balance is not just a fancy trend but a necessity in the corporate world. While several CEOs defy the concept of work-life balance, Yardi stands strong as a true leader who cares about his employees. This initiative shows Capgemini promotes a healthy work environment and yields productivity and better outcomes.
